This little cutie is ready for the Halloween masquerade ball! I made Mariela’s tutu from black and orange tulle, and I used black, white and orange beads with a crystal focal bead for her necklace. Lastly, she has a Venetian-style mask handcrafted from polymer clay. Visit her on Etsy!
I love custom orders. They really challenge me to be creative and push my artistic boundaries. When I was asked to make a fisherman mouse, I was thrilled because fishing has a meaningful place in my family; my grandfather was an avid angler, and my father enjoyed it, as well.
This mouse is larger than most of mine, standing just shy of 7″ tall. Everything is handmade by me with the exception of the miniature rod and the tiny little flies on his hat and vest. I’ve been dabbling in working with polymer clay lately, so I decided the stringer of fish would be the perfect opportunity to work with that medium. I’m just delighted with the finished product and can’t wait to send him off to his new home!
If you’re interested in commissioning a custom piece, please contact me! I will only be able to accept a limited number of orders between now and the holidays.
As I’ve been adding fall and Halloween-themed critters to my Etsy shop, I had the idea to create a little seasonal scene to photograph them in, and I couldn’t be more delighted with the results! I used polymer clay and a craft gourd to build a little house surrounded by a picket fence. The polymer clay spooky tree has little ghosts hanging from it, and the front stoop on the house is decorated with mini bales of hay, a pumpkin and a tiny broom! Now, onto a winter scene!
This is Phoebus! With the holidays rapidly approaching (how is it late September already?!), I have fall and winter on the mind, so of course I thought of polar bears! I started off with a more realistic bear in mind, but sometimes things don’t work out the way we plan. Regardless, I think he’s adorable and am very pleased with the end result!
