So, it’s only July and it’s about a billion degrees outside here in Orlando, but I’m already thinking about my favorite season – fall! This is Peter, who happened upon a pumpkin patch… and I think you can figure out the rest. He’s listed on Etsy and is ready to ship!
For as long as I can remember, my parents’ house had an aquarium in it. When I was really little, it was freshwater with cichlids, and later, it switched to saltwater with clowns, tangs and various species of coral. I’ve never had an aquarium of my own, so I thought perhaps I could build my own with needle felted exotic sea creatures!
This is the first piece for my aquarium installation (still don’t have any idea how I’m going to build it, but I’m hoping it’ll come to me). The blue-ringed octopus is a venomous octopus that paralyzes its victims and sends them into cardiac arrest. Pretty nasty, but I liked the way it looked. So, perhaps my aquarium will be a little more like Thunderdome. No problem. 🙂
Enzo the Pizza Making Mouse is the newest addition to my Etsy shop! If you can’t live without him, he’s ready to ship today!
I recently participated in a critter challenge for Sarafina Felting Fanfare, an awesome and inspiring group of needle felters of all skill levels on Facebook. Each participant received a completed wire armature and an assortment of wool and locks in various colors. We had no idea what the armature was supposed to be, leaving it to our imaginations to create something new! The only rules were that we couldn’t add any additional wires to the armature, and we had to use at least some of each type of wool we received. I turned my armature into a squirrel! It turns out the armature was intended to be a mouse, so I wasn’t too far off. This was such a great way to get creative and think outside the box. I’m thrilled with the end result – Sheldon the Squirrel!
